Abstract: The motion of liquid phases (water, benzene, toluene, et al.) through a compacted sediment of zeolite NaX has been observed by neutron transmission experiments. The liquid phase boundary of the adsorbate migrates through the zeolite campact with a velocity of about $\dot{s}$= 10$^{-4}$cm/s. In some cases the distance of travel s can be expressed by s$^{2}$ = D$_{k}$ $\cdot$ t with a capillary coefficient D$_{k}$ = 10$^{-3}$cm$^{2}$/s. The profile of the adsorbate density at the phase boundary is smeared out during the diffusive transport of mass according to a diffusion coefficient 10$^{-7}$ < D(c) < 10$^{-4}$cm$^{2}$ /s. Some features of the adsorbate density c(x, t) measured at large x and t remain unexplained.
